CAPTIVITY
You are my master,
I own no other thought,
save that which you endow.
All my life I follow your command,
my progress slow;
encumbered as I am with chains forged out of pride and need,
created by human hand.
My scars distinguish me from others of my kind.
I bear the cruel markings of an unjust punishment.
A heavy heart my legacy;
weighed down with sorrow at the loss of innocence,
and the ruination of a tender mind.
I do not dare to disobey,
or wander from the path you set me on,
those many years ago;
that lonely path, untrod by any other.
I prostrate myself before you, meek and servile.
Master I beg for mercy, release me from this agony.
Free my tortured soul.
